Painting is a thought provoking business.
I have long thought creativity to be one of our super powers. When we take a moment to work with our hands, it gives that quiet thoughtful voice inside a chance to be heard.
It has become my habit to choose a subject to paint and spend a month with it. Inevitably, although I must admit I am still surprised when it happens, there seems to be one prevailing line of thought that rises to the surface as I stay with my painting subject.
At the end of the month I find a quote that best captures the sentiment behind the series. It's as though each painting series has a message for me, and I gladly share them with you.
